Enlightened...

Ever wondered how Archimedes felt on the day he discovered buoyancy? Heck, he just wanted to have a bath after a long tiring day. He landed up becoming a laughing stock. He still had the last laugh, though.

Enlightenment manifests itself in so many ways. Spiritual, intellectual, etc, etc. How about self enlightenment? How many of us have had days when we too find a light bulb dangling over our heads? Another word describing the same - Epiphany... (I'm in GRE mode so forgive me if I come out with more of these.)

epiphany
e·piph·a·ny[i-pif-uh-nee]
a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

Well, in most cases, the self enlightenment isn't intuitive but has to be drilled in by a not so commonplace occurance. Most people have a "Doh!" (credits to Homer Simpson) moment. It's like, "Gosh! How couldn't I see that coming?" Probably what Issac Newton thought as well when the apple fell on his head. Ok, maybe not - his first thought might have been as fantastic as "Huh? Wassat?"

P.S. Dedicated to two very enlightened people... :)
